Ok, this is a new one to me. I went to view my signal strength on 103(b) and I get a message saying, "The process you've requested conflicts with the following scheduled event(s) Signal Testing 5:55a New England @ Dallas 5:56a 1010 DVR+" Alright, I get it, it's downloading into the showcase for my ST/SF package, so I elect NOT to interrupt. So I go to watch another channel and I get this message, "Available tuners are recording. Select one of them to tune to 2 WJBK" (that's the local FOX affiliate here in Detroit) I like my highlights, but I also want to watch TV. If I interrupt, will it download the rest of the showcase later? Why would it highjack both tuners if it knows I'm watching TV? Shouldn't it wait until I put it in standby to do that? I have an hr20 0x18a.

The signal test will interrupt all other functions, including showcase downloads. If you choose to proceed, it may or may not download the affected showcase later - I've never really checked and most of the time the NFL highlight showcases don't work for me.
However, if you cancel the signal test, there is a bug that results in the "Available tuners are recording" message. Hopefully DirecTV's programmers get this cleared up.

It lets you see the signal strength levels for the different satellites and transponders. This is very useful when trying to diagnose channel reception issues.
