wierd and probly stupid question......

Heres my dilemma again, switchin to Direct from E*. I have my pricing ect from D*, amd gettin 2 hd receivers, and one hddvr and plus package......Problem? My basment won't be done(where the third receiver will go) until Jan-ish. I did not ask this when callin direct yet, cuz I didn't want to look too dumb. Will they let me get this same deal now, and not activate the 3rd receiver til Jan? Can they do that? I'll pay for the receiver upfront, but I was wondering if I can not get charged monthly for the third one until Jan when basments done, or is it a waste and I should wait to switch in Jan?

what i would do is temporary set up of your 3rd receiver now(if possible).your commitment may change if you wait until jan.
then when your basement is done just relocate your 3rd receiver to its permanant spot.:D
Then just a matter or re-routing wires or switching a cable:D

i had to do a temp set up my self a while back for a few months and all i had to do in the end afterwards was remove a cable from the multi switch and screw the connector for the permanant location to that multi switch ,coil up temp run and done:D

thats the issue here, its not possible, I don't have temp area for a projector to do it, i thought maybe a small chance they would let me take the third receiver and not activate until I need it

activate the receiver anywhere even with just a small TV. Better to pay the $4.99 lease a month for a few months and not use #3 then risk a change in service. At the most $25.00 by your time-table, small change for peace of mind!

My suggestion is to also get it now. January is the no mans land period from now. Too soon to get another receiver (most likely) but thankfully not too far to wait with the receiver in use. I'd use it to watch 2 football games for the rest of the season on a computer monitor or small TV. :)

Activate 2 boxes on one tv if you have to. Just have the tech label one basement. Then your account will line up a serial # with one called basement or rec room. Its only $5 a month.
