I understand the mirroring fees for receivers and DVRs. I'm talking about the dishes, themselves. They're both on the same house. I just found it more convenient to mount a second dish than route cables to my master bedroom. I already have an HR20 and an old SD Tivo connected to the 5 LNB dish that D* installed. Now, I'm ready to upgrade my HR10 to another HR20 on the other dish which feeds the HR10 and a receiver for my family room/den/kitchen. That second dish is the older HD dish (3 LNB?).

If it's not allowed to have multiple dishes, then I'll find a new dish somewhere and do the installation myself. Otherwise, I'll try to get D* to upgrade me including the (second) dish install.

Is it true that they're not making deals on upgrades any more?

Are you asking if they have a monthly fee for multiple dishes or if they will charge you for an additional 5 lnb dish?

Multiple dishes are allowed and there's no extra monthly fee. I'm not sure if they will give you another one since you already have one, though.

They only charge you for additional receivers, not additional dishes. I've had extra dishes for many years as it was cheaper for me to just put up another one (I had gotten a few for free ;)) rather than buy a big 16 port multiswitch. They were pretty expensive back in the day. Now they're a bit more affordable - atleast for me. :)

Actually, this thread will probably be moved to a different part of the Forum as it's not really part of the HR20/HR21 discussion. :)
