I know I have asked this question before but does anyone have an update for the remaining locals from 61.5 to either 110 or 119W slots? Or are they going to stay stay there permanent..

Thanks...

My guess is never! Unless the FCC changes its ruling, I think they will remain where they are. And now that the merger is officially dead, they have an excuse not to move them ever.

but if you have a burning desire for these locals, why not ask E* for the necessary equipment to receive it? My understanding is that they don't charge for that. and if you want SA and live in the east, good for you.

Yes, if you need a second dish to get some of your locals, they will provide it and install it free. I got one last month to get the rest of the Denver locals. I don't think I've actually watched any of those channels yet, but there's no reason to pass up a free second dish.

E* will give any sub of local channels a free dish, switch, plus installation, which is great. But in my area most of the channels are PBS.....all except for 1 have good reception, but that 1 channel has stone age reception.
I contacted E* but never received a a reply for this problem.
I would hope E* getsl the locals on 110 or 119...........D* does all locals on one bird and you only need one dish. all hvae excellent reception.

Won't doing this cause PQ to degrade though?

Yeah if only! I'd also like to see them on D* too. But I see Time Warner NYC touting that NY1 is exclusive to cable. I wonder if they'll ever give NY1 to DBS users?

Geronimo,

E* supplies the second dish to those that sub for local channels. I did that expecting to receive good reception for all the locals that are not receieved on 110w and 119 w. In the NYC area these stations are all ota uhf PBS channels. They all except for 1 [WNJB] have excellent reception, via the free dish. Most NYC subscribers are complaning about receiving a poor DIGITAL signal for that station.

I hope this clears up anything you may have misunderstood in my previous post.
