I looked around a bit in here and tried a few things on the remote but I'm not too sure on this.

Since the owners manual SUCKS, and worthless, do you switch between the two tuners by pressing the "prev" key?

Typically that will switch tuners (if you're not currently recording something, of course.) In fact, every time you change channels, it will typically switch tuners.

However, I'm assuming you're asking this question because of the Tivo function of switching between tuners and keeping a live buffer on both. (Its formal name around here is Dual Live Buffers or DLB.) Unfortunately, the HR20 does not have this capability.

I know. I just want to switch between each tuner to see what's going on. Recording or not.

If I understand you correctly, only one tuner is active at any given time when no recordings are in progress. If one show is getting recorded, the other tuner is only available to you. Not too sure what happens if you got two shows recording at the same time. Can I swap between the two or am I stuck on one of them?

You can swap just hit list. Just you let you know that it does not save your pause point. So when you swap back, it will be back to live tv and have to REW. Right now even SLB doesn't really work right with the pause point. :(
