What is the longest length I can have when running a wire from an IR Sensor to an IR Emitter? How can I lengthen this? With a booster and what type? What all do I need to do this?

I installed 8 Xantech 283M Blink emitters on the fronts of LCD displays that hang under the balcony at our church. All of the emitters are home run on Cat 5 cable (easy to get and inexpensive) back to a Xantech 791-44 amplified connecting block. Runs vary from 30 feet to about 100 feet. The system works great. No false ons or offs. We only use it to remotely turn on and off the displays but you could send whatever commands you want. In addition to the above parts there is a small 12 volt wall wart power supply and a sensor. I like the blink emitters and the sensors with blink because you can tell that the system has the signal which is great if you do have to debug it. I ordered everything from Worthington Distribution but Smarthome and others have the same stuff.
