He cant get the 110 amd 119 birds but 99,101,103 are good. 2 questions: will the receiever get through the set-up screens if not getting those 2 birds at all? Second question what channels will he NOT get because of it. just which hi-def are not on the new bird.

All of the new HiDef channels are on 99 and 103-deg W Ka-band satellites. Some HD channels are still beamed from 101, 110 and 119, including HDNet, HDNet Movies, HBO East, Showtime East, ESPN-HD, ESPN2-HD, Universal HD, TNT-HD, and a few others.
You can get through the satellite setup without receiving 110 and 119.

Second question what channels will he NOT get because of it. just which hi-def are not on the new bird.The conscientious professional installer will probably not bother to set up a dish in the first place as they would risk not getting paid for an incomplete installation.
In answer to the "what's at 119" question, that would appear to be the MPEG2 feeds of ESPN2, HD Net, all of the MPEG2 New York HD channels and a couple of DNS L.A. HD locals.

well i bet you guys would want it even though its without the 110, 119 and we will get paid if its activated but i still am questionable of exactly what channels are still on the 119,110. hbo east? showtime? espn? someone must know exactly whats on those birds for hi-def.

Follow the link provided by litzdog911. Then click on the "ChNo" box for the 110 & 119 entries (right side of column).
Here's the list of channel numbers ----
110: 70 - 71 - 73 - 74 - 75 - 76 - 77 - 78 - 206 - 245 - 501 - 509 - 537 - 543
119: 72 - 79 - 80 - 81 - 82 - 83 - 86 - 88 - 94 - 209 (plus LILs)
