Just a few moments ago we sent out an email to all our members thanking them for all their support of DBSTalk.COM over the past year.

Below is a copy of the message we sent out to every one, just incase it did not get to you, or your mail program ate it. :)

Happy Holidays! On behalf of all the staff of DBSTalk.COM I would like to wish you and your family a very happy and safe Holiday Season!

The year 2002 has been an incredible year for us at DBSTalk.COM. We grew by leaps and bounds this year! When we look back its hard to believe some of the achievements we have made this past year.

Some of them include:

• Breaking over 6 Million Hits each month! (And getting close to breaking 7 Million!)
• Bringing you the first full review of Dish Networks new PVR 721 receiver
• We had one of the first reviews of XM Satellite Radio’s new SkiFi Receiver
• We broke the news on Dish Network’s HDTV’s Future Plans and technologies
• We worked with Dish Network to give our members the first looks at upcoming software releases on the 721
• We just recently broke 10,000 threads at DBSTalk! (With 75,000 unique posts!)

Plus recently DBSTalk.COM gave away a brand new Dish PVR in our Survivor: Thailand contest! Our Survivor Coordinator Mark Lamutt is already working on contest ideas for the upcoming Survivor: Amazon show beginning in February 2003! (We would like to thank the good folks from DishDepot.COM for providing us the 721 grand prize!)

We would like to sincerely thank all the Gold Members for their support of DBSTalk.COM this year! It’s because of the support of our gold members that we have been able to stay on top of technology with our server, and it’s also the reason why DBSTalk.COM continues to be ad free!

To thank everyone for the success DBSTalk.COM has had in 2002 we are giving all our members two gifts. The first of them being our Exclusive DBSTalk.COM instant messenger! The DBSTalk.COM Instant messenger allows you to chat with others who may be using other instant messaging programs such as AOL, Yahoo, ICQ or MSN all in one compact program. Our instant messenger is FREE and contains no spyware. You can find out more about this exciting new program at http://im.dbstalk.com

Our second gift to you is our Exclusive Holiday Music Channel! The DBSTalk.COM Holiday Channel will run 24 hours a day 7 days a week all the way until New Years Day! We operate two separate Channels so that both our Dial up modem users and Broadband users can listen and enjoy. It’s another way of us saying thanks to YOU for all our success in 2002! To access the Holiday Channel visit http://www.dbstalk.com/holidaychannel

We are looking forward to 2003! We already have a few things in planning for 2003, including more exclusive news and features and more contests. Thank you again for all the success you have given us in 2002. We look forward to serving you in 2003.

Again Happy Holidays from all of us at DBSTalk.COM

Hi Scott. I hate to be a nitpick but I see nothing in there mentioned about the other DBS providers, DirecTV and Sky Angel, only Dish network. Just thought I would point that out.

When I opened my letter Norton told me it contained a virus.

Bob - have you changed email addresses? If so, that's probably why.

Strange, mine was fine and contained no attachments or HTML so it couldn't possibly have a virus.

There was no virus with the message. Sending a virus out with our setup is next to impossible. :) Do not fear.

Happy Holidays!

Bob I still show you at AOL.COM which might be part of the problem.

It seems as though AOL again has our ISP's mail server "MRDO" on its blacklist. I know our ISP has been fighting with them about this, hopefully it gets resolved soon. Unfortunately it is out of our hands.

That probably explains my problem too. Well, at least why I didn't get the e-mail.
