721 L1.07 Caller ID Quit, Just Me?

Since 721 version L1.07 my Caller ID quit working. I made sure the check box "caller ID Pop up enabled" is checked. I hooked up a stand-alone caller ID display to the phone cable before it goes into the 721. I looped out of the caller ID unit into the 721 with a 3" phone cord. The stand-alone unit logs calls, the 721 does not. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me??

Try clearing the Caller ID log in the menu, it has fixed other Called ID issues in the past. Let us know if that fixed it or not.

There were no calls in the log. They quit logging after the 1.07 update. Thanks for the suggestion thouhg. i spent 1.5 hours with "advanced tech support" last night. They had me try many things, including pull the smart card twice and check and uncheck all boxes in all the preferences. Nothing helped. They gave me an RMA number and told me to return it for replacement. I was not going to swap 721's just for the caller ID problem. Especially when I was sure it was software related. I woke up this morning (saturday) and truned on the 721 just seconds before someone called on the phone and was shocked and amazed to see the caller ID popup light off! I immediately checked my software version. Still 1.07. Somehow it seems to magically have fixed itself during the night, after being broke for a week. Could they have snuck in a minor software upgrade without changing version numbers?

Nope, the caller ID on my 721 has been working flawlessly. :)

Caller ID is a wierd beast.

Before I had receivers that had Caller ID, I had a bunch of caller ID boxes. Sometimes some boxes would pick up calls but some of the others would not.

I don't know if it has anything to do with line voltage or anything.

I have had some intermittent caller id problems in the past as well. just when I think something is wrong it starts to work again..
