Seems like they aren't going to give a free 501/508 so assume $199 per user is more then they want to spend?
Would you stay if they knocked $100 off of the $199 501/508 Existing Customer Deal (so $99, with 1 year committment and AutoPay)
Or
$100 off a 721?
or
???

I would consider a 508 for $99. :)

Yeah $99 would be fair.

Question is, is there enough in stock? But I think Charlie can do damage control if they act fast. But if they wait till right before the charges start again, that would be stupid as many would have pre-emptively jumped ship. You figure they might have till end of March and then people will start making plans (not wanting to wait till the last minute and be out of DTiVos)

If they can offer DHP customers a 508 for $50 then why not offer current subs a 508 for $100 ? Sell your dishplayer on e-bay for $200 and then pair that with $100 and you got a brand new 508, or just the $200 alone for a used 508. Someone may even trade you even up.

That would be great, but they probably consider DHP customer $50 price new subscriber acquisition (and are willing to subsidize alot). Except for DP subs, a $200 508 is enough of a treat that someone like myself would go for it, so they really don't need to spend much money on Sub retention (little desire to subsidize). But it they were smart a $99 508 (still a nice subsidy) for sub retention would go a long way. Obviously a $50 would go longer, but they may work out the final #s and find out that $100 508 would keep almost as many people as a $50 508?

I want the same price for the 721 that I can get if I bail on E* and buy the DirecTivo (which I believe is $249 with a $50 rebate). Or a 508 for $99, because I have to buy 2, which puts me at the same price as above for a 721.
