Richmond testing at 119

It appears that Richmond VA is testing as the next city on D* at 119.

This brings the total cities on 119 to 11. It looks like this will be the last city till DTV-7s goes up. 119 is now averaging 11.5 channels per TP.

I have a list, but it is not safe to post such information as Nielson says they own the list. I can tell you that Rockbridge Co. is not in the Richmond Market,and that it is in the Roanoke/Lynchburg Market. Is there another county you have in mind?

Yeah after Bryan27's nice DMA site got axed by Nielson I had to resort to going to nielson and paying the $30 bucks they charge to get a DMA map. It is a nice map takes about a week to arrive, but it has all the counties in the US and what DMA they are in on it.

You can check broadcasting & cable yearbook.
Its usually found in your local library in reference.

The university libraries in Philly carry the 2003
edition. It lists also the TV HH in each county,
atleast the numbers Nielsen got.

The yearbook has cable penetration
statistics also (per DMA). It doesnt
list satellite penetration statistics though.

WWAC-TV is claiming Philly DMA has
300,000HH subscribing to satellite

Thats considerably good considering
Comcast's lock on SportsNet.

That averages to 10%. I emailed their
general manager, they said the numbers
are directly from Nielsen. He even
gave me it broken down, DirecTV and Echostar.
DirecTV has more subscribers than Echostar
atleast in Philly, but its pretty standard to
the national norm.

Many times local stations purchase
the Nielsen data, so if you run across
a nice TV station in your market they
may tell you whatever information you
need. WWAC is run by a nice group
of people, but their programming lineup
is just Shop At home mostly (station says
they need to be profitable). I refuse to
watch the station however.
