This happens with both my 622s. From time to time I'll get a message when coming out of standby saying to avoid a monthly charge I must connect a phone line. I have always had phone lines connected to both receivers. When I test the connection the phone connection tests okay. The broadband connection tests bad. No surprise because there is no broadband connected.

Is this false warning a known 622 problem? Should I do anything other than test the connection when I get one?

It is not connecting at least some of the time. Make sure to force a call out from the diagnostics screen. You should also see when it last called out in the counters.
