First off, I hope I am posting in the right forum.

With DoD going national soon, I decided to hook my HR 20 to my network. Connectiing the HR 20 to my network went fine. My issues is, I can't get WMP to recognize my HR 20.

I noticed quite a few posts mention following the same steps as file sharing with the XBOX 360. The thing is, I already have my XBOX 360 file sharing with no problems.

I really don't need both devices sharing, but since I am already hooked up for DoD, I figured why not get the file sharing going. Also, the HR 20 is always on, so I wouldn't have to power on my XBOX to hear my music and view my pictures.

I've done pretty much everything without success. Does anyone have both of these devices working without problems? I can't imagine why I can't get the device recognized.

In WMP11, did you already go to Tools-Options-Library-Configure Sharing-and enable the unknown device (HR20)?

Its not an issue having both setup at the same time. I have both my HR20, Xbox 360 and a few other devices sharing with no problems.

What is your setup? I know when I did mine with the Buffalo wireless bridge, it needed to be updated to the latest firmware for WMP to recognize the HR20.

Did you restart you HR20? Often times all you need to do is restart the recorded and check the WMP minutes later...it will show up as an unknown device and then all you have to do it enable it.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I did this several times.

I am using an Actiontec all in one. I am using it wired. It is fine with my XBOX, which is why I am kinda stumped as to why it doesn't recognize the HR 20; especially because it connected to the internet so quickly for DoD.

Yes restarted everything a number of times.

The important part to (DoD) is working fine, so I am happy enough, but it would be nice to get the media sharing going. I'll keep experimenting I guess.

I got it working. I forgot I had to allow the HR 20's IP address in Zone Alarm.
