View Full Version : Ordering Additional HR20?

Why is it that I am unable to order an additional HR20 through the D* website? Is it because I already have 2? I can always go to BB or CC to pick one up, but I was just curious if this is the same for others that already have an HR20?

Thanks

It may have something to do with the period of time between the acquisitions.

I got one last year and one in August, and the website shows that I can order one for $299.

Another poster had the same question as you. I think paulman182 is right in that you can only order so many in a given period of time. Anyway, here is the link.

I think I've read where you can only get 1 every 6 months directly from D*.

Aren't they usually cheaper from places like CostCo anyways?

I know this might be overkill but I also responded to the other thread with the same issue. You typically in this case go to a Best Buy, Costco or Circuit City to get an additional HD-DVR. Best Buy now in most places has the HR21 (black HD-DVR without the ATSC tuner). Costco (if they have them) and Circuit City has the HR20 in stock. Good luck! PM me if you have any questions.

I'm perfectly fine with going to Costco or Best Buy to get one. In fact I probably will do that. Of the two that I already have, I got one from Directv directly in November 2006, and then my latest was purchased from Costco in July. So it has been almost a year since the last one I bought from Directv directly.

No big deal, and thanks for the responses, I just found it odd.

While you're there, pick up 5 or 6, that's what I say. Never know when you'll need a spare

If they'd just come out with that All Access package so I didn't have to pay the additional 4.99, I would seriously consider it!! :D

Why would you go to Best Buy or Costco? That doesn't make any sense to me. If you are a long term DirecTV customer call up retention, when they tell you it is $299 tell them I am a long term customer is there anyone else I can talk to and you will get it for $21.95. Yes I believe it is ever 6 months you can get this deal, but it is out there.

It sure beats going to Best Buy or Costco and getting it for full price.

D* has changed offers and nolonger has the $0 HD DVR offer best you can do is $100 off but they are cracking down on discressionary credit so each agent has a max of like $300 for the week they also have changed the rateing system for customers account and the offers for their best customer are MIA right now. I have not seen an "ALIST":( cust for months

I'm not so sure about that. Maybe I was just lucky, but yesterday they came out to my house, installed the new dish and swapped out my old dvr (non-hd) for a HD-20 and then replaced my H10 with the new H21 at no cost to me. Added in 6 months free HD (as I had previously been paying for it). I was told I would need to wait 6 months due to high demand and they would not tell me how much it would cost then. Last night I stopped by Best Buy and they had the HD-20 for $299. I think I will wait and see what happens.

Is that front line and/or retention that has a $300 limit?
