Hey guys:

I'm a former Dish subscriber who switched to cable a few years ago, and now want to go back to satellite. I tried Dish, but don't have a line of sight for either the 61.5 or 129 HD satellites. So, now I'm looking at DirecTv. Question, is there a list of the DirecTv satellites and what channels are on each one? I need to make sure I can access all the channels I want. Thanks so much!

Welcome back to the D* side. ;)

http://dishpointer.com will allow you to at least see the basic direction where you need to be looking. Type in your address and choose the DirecTV Sat at 101 degrees.

http://lyngsat.com shows you what channels are on what SATs.

The SAT range in the sky is between 99 degrees and 119 degrees.

Also dont forget that some areas require a second dish pointed at 72.5 for sd local channels but that is all that comes for that sat I believe.

If you look up DBSTalk user litzdog911, his signature has a link to help you point your dish.

Fair enough. I didn't post that because the OP didn't list a geographical location. ;)
The 72.5 will also be going away in the near future so less of an issue as time goes by.
