Hello everyone,
This last week, in addition to a raging fire a couple of miles from my house (Orange County) which is still burning... I've been having problems with all 3 HR20's

1. HR20-100- I get an immediate skip to "delete or keep" when you start a prerecorded program- reset receiver 1 day- power cycled the next when the problem reoccurred. This one's NOT networked.

2. 2nd HR20-100, same problem- plus stops listening to any remote command too. Also some black screens when trying to watch prerecorded. Reset or power cycled 4 days in a row now. Yesterday, I unplugged the network cable...

3. minor- HR20-700 shows "please wait" at the bottom of the screen a lot, when watching prerecorded programs. This one's networked-

Do you think both -100's are going bad? Seems unlikely. Direct installed a new slimline dish in August- the 700 had been solid up until this week...? Thanks everyone

I've been getting the "please wait" screen about once a day on my HR20-700 since the 0x1B4 update so it *may* be a software issue. This has happened both with recorded and live programs.

Were they exposed to a lot of smoke or dust? I'm out in Riverside and we've had lots of blowing sand and dust.

No more so than we have! They are indoors of course, with AC running evenings, doesn't seem particularly dusty... J

Do you think both -100's are going bad?One user here had six bad -700s in a row before he got three that worked. It is not unheard of.

What software releases are on each of these units?

What kind of power protection do you have?

Are you upwind or downwind of the fires?

I would suspect bad power as well.

well, I'm still limping along... I checked last night and all 3 have the last major production s/w - 0x18a I think...

and as for power, they're on multiple outlet strip surge protectors. Nothing fancy here- in southern california with few lightning storms we're not prone to surges, and of course surge protectors don't do anything about "dips"...

anyway thanks for your suggestions. John
