If I go to an HR20 or 21 install with a 5 lnb dish and keep my R10 for the back room, what type of extras will they install?? Will a multiswitch be required, or can the R10 be fed by 2 lines and the HD by the other 2??

What do the BBCs do? Are they always necessary, such as my envisioned installation??

The HD reciever would be only 15 ft from the dish, and the R10 is about 50 to 60 ft from the dish.

Thanks for help!!

If you only will have the two units which it sounds like you will you will not need a multi-switch. The 5 LNB dish has 4 outputs. Two will go to the HR20/HR21 and the other two will go to the R10.

You will only use the BBC's on the HR20/HR21. They allow you to receive the new MPEG4 HD channels. They will allow the unit to receive Ka Low frequencies.

The 5 LNB dish will support the 4 lines you want, but if you think you may ever want to add another reciever, I would see if they can give you the multiswitch also. BBC's are necessary for the new HD channels on the HR20/21 and there will be one for each tuner. The R10 will not get the new HD's, so no BBC's necessary.
