Recoded.. but black screen and DELETE option only?

Too often when I record a show.. (seems to always happen on the new HD channels).. when I play it and ALL I get is an instant black screen with the 'delete/keep' dialog box popping up.

I have no choice but to delete it. (menu/reset deletes it anyway).

The show DOES record... and takes up 3-4% of space etc.. but there's no way to watch it.. and these are regular channels like HIST and DSC..

This started when the new HD channels came out.. even after a number of resets. I have missed a number of Modern Marvels and How it's mades and such.. poopy... :(

How are your signals strengths on the 99 & 103 satellites? Did you have any inclement weather at the time of the recordings? It will be a black screen on playback if the signal is interrupted.

Excellent strength on 99 but 0 on all 7 transponders on 103.

How could that be? I am getting all the channels!

103(a) is probably spotbeam transponders not aimed at you. 103(b) is the satellite that beams your national HD channels, while 99(b) beams your local HDTV channels.

Ok.. my signal strengths for 103b are NOT GREAT.

Lowest is 61 and highest up to 79.

What gives? Should these be much higher? I just had the dish aligned after a roofing job just 2 months ago.

Exact same issues with me all weekend long. Had the unit for about 1 month no issues.
