It is clear that people feel passionate about the features and services that DirecTV provides. That passion should not be directed at each other in negative ways. I ask that we "dial down" the personal attacks and name-calling that seem to have shown up, as of late.

It is appropriate to disagree. It is not appropriate to attack each other.

I totally agree. Have you seen the TiVo Community HDTiVo forum lately?

I must not be visiting the "right" threads, because I haven't seen a rash of attacks against other members, but as usual, if you do see personal attacks, please report them to the moderators for follow-up.

Don't think of it as snitching but instead think of it as being a good forum citizen ... The mods may do nothing more than step in to post a warning and restore order, but at the least, they'll be observing if there are repeat offenders, and they'll take more drastic action as needed.

I agree...I have noticed a higher level of negative snipping directed at members rather than just good alternative position statements over the past few months. Fortunately, the moderators usually do a good job of stopping the personal attacks promptly, but with the number of subscribers we have now I am sure it is difficult to police every attacking comment.

Let me add a little weight to this request. I personally haven't seen anything worthy of an infraction here but you all should know there is an infraction system, and we do use it when one member insults another.

If you feel that a post is inappropriate in any way, please press the report post button under the user's avatar.
