501 Remote Programming Question

I'm trying to program my 501's remote to control my Sharp CD stereo using the Aux. mode button, and I'm having no luck! The only codes listed for Sharp are for a TV, and I've tried all of them. The model number of the stereo is: CD-C2900 I have the audio out of the 501 hooked to the Aux. in on the stereo because it sounds a lot better than the TV. Any ideas? TIA

Buy a Universal remote that operates your Sharp and Dish. The remote is a preprogrammed universal remote if the code wasn't on the chip when it left the factory it won't operate the product!

Thanks, but I was hoping to avoid that. I had hoped that someone else had found a code that would work with this device. I tried to scan for codes, but it takes forever, and I haven't had any luck. Thanks anyway.
