Anyone heard of "Connectv" for install, and how are they?

A contractor I work with has been bitching about cable for quite some time, and I've been telling him to switch to D, and he finally made the call the other day. We both get $50 off the bill, so that's cool. ANYWAY.......... long story short.....they told him someone called Connectv? is doing the install this friday. I said "are you sure they said connectv?" He said yes. I'm getting my HR21 saturday, and it's Ironwood, just like it has always been, and I live about a mile or so from him. I've never heard of these people, and I told him I'd come here and see if I could get any opinions(good or bad) about the quality of their service. Thanks in advance for any feedback! Personally, I think he heard wrong, but maybe not.

I don't know how good they are in Calif., but here in Ohio... hum you really don't want my opinion. If that answers your question any?

My one experience with them was a hell of a lot better than Ironwood. They're headquartered in El Segundo, right next to DirecTV. Ironwood lost the Bay Area to them. Their website is at www.connecttelevision.com. They were much faster and more responsive than Ironwood, but I suppose just about anyone would be.

Yes it does. The fact that I have never heard of them made me wonder. Would you say they are worse than some of the stuff we all hear about Ironwood.....or is it a crap shoot either way? He rents , and has no eaves,so they are doing a tripod, or a pole(in cement I guess), and he is getting the basic stuff(no HD), so I wonder if he's be better off demanding Ironwood. He knows absolutely nothing about what to watch for. I told him I might come by like I was just stopping by to see what he was up to, and kind of check things out, but no should have to do that. Well, that's good to hear, and thank you as well. They must have JUST lost it, because I'm getting my DVR upgrade this saturday by Ironwood. No dish aiming, or anything too complex...........I already have the cables in place, so.......4 connectors, turn on the box, make sure it works, goodbye!

i really don't like to belittle anyone, but i just had connectv attempt to do a install this past Saturday. they were the worst i ever had, and they didn't finish the job. far as Ironwood i have no knowledge of them. but as the crap shoot, well connectv maybe the worst in my location. and the greatest out in yours.

Yeah, it's a shame that you "never know" with any of these people. They obviously don't properly train a alot of them, I don't really know, but it seems you hear a lot of horror stories. You hear good as well, so they're out there.
