View Full Version : NHL Network with NHLCI
I have Total Choice with HD & NHLCI.
Now that I realize I only get NHL Net in SD only...(which is totally bogus)
Will I get NHL Net all year or will it go away once NHLCI is over?

I am in a similar situation as you and have been told it will go away at the end of the season unless I upgrade to Choice Xtra.

I to have Total Choice with HD + CI and I was told by a CSR yesterday (I know I know they never know anything) that I will get the channel but not in HD throughout the year!!!>>>??? I guess the real question is do/Should CI subscribers get NHL Network in HD or just SD. I had read somewhere I thought that CI subscribers get NHL Network in HD....I tried searching but came up with nothing

I have the same question because I only get NHL network in sd and in HD it says channel not purchased. That would be bs if we get sd only. Can anyone confirm what CI subscribers are supposed to receive

My understanding for another forum is that with ChoiceXtra sub, you will get the NHL Network year round, but with only the CI sub, you will only get the NHL Network during the season, but that is based only on what I have read from others, I can't confirm personally. However, you do not need both. As far as HD, I am pretty sure you need to sub to the HD Access sub to get the NHL Network in ND.......

Thanks to the work of SatelliteRacer, I have NHL Network in HD this morning. I have total choice, NHL CI, and HD. I contacted him through PM yesterday, and he indicated that there was some kind of programming error at D*, which they rectified last night, and I do have NHL Network in HD. So should all with NHL CI and HD.

For anyone who may have missed it, here is the link to the press release on the NHL Network.

This is straight off the D* FAQ page for CI:
When will DIRECTV carry the NHL Network? Will it be available in SD and HD?
The NHL Network launched November 1, 2007 in both HD and SD. DIRECTV die–hard hockey fans now will have access to the ultimate hockey sports lineup with the launch of the NHL Network in both SD and simulcast in HD on DIRECTV. The NHL Network will broadcast 50 live regular–season games this season in addition to its daily live signature show — NHL on the Fly, classic games, documentaries, instructional shows, highlights and more.
NHL Network is now available to DIRECTV customers subscribing to DIRECTV® CHOICE XTRA™ and above programming packages, as well as those with a subscription to NHL® CENTER ICE®.
Note: Only customers with H20, H21, HR20 or HR21 receivers, 5—LNB dish, HD access ($9.99/mo.) and an NHL CENTER ICE subscription or CHOICE XTRA (or equivalent) will be able to view the NHL Network in HD. Visit directv.com/hdcheck for more HD equipment info.
