Now that Law & Order: Criminal Intent is on USA, they need to make sure that the guide data correctly reflects first run vs. repeats. I setup a series link and I verified the series link is set to first run only, and it still records it multiple times a day. I guess I'll need to setup a manual recording instead.

SD or HD?
I have the HD one setup, and it is ony catching the first airing, and just hte first runs.... I think...
I haven't been watching it, just recording it and queing them up... but I do know it is not recording 3 or 4 a day.

I just set it up yesterday on the HD channel. It recorded a show last night at 10:00, and it is set to record tonight at 6:00, 7:00, 10:00 & 11:00.

I'll have to double check when I get home.

Mine is doing the same thing, I removed a bunch last night from the upcoming schedule. Recording too many is better than missing one though.

You don't have a Slingbox?
I know what you want for Christmas.
i deleted my series link for CI and just set up a reoccuring manual record for it... i hate having a cluttered playlist. :)

Anything other than the Thursday, 10 PM ET new episode has a generic description. I don't know if its someone at USA or at Tribune, but someone is getting lazy and not giving episode descriptions-thus the multiple hits on the to do list.
I also set up a manual record to circumvent the problem.
I have had the same problem with multiple recordings of CI on USAHD,I have it set for first run only, also the same problem with Monk on USAHD,multiple recordings even though set for first run only.

Anyone have a phone number, or email contact for USA-HD...
As since they are now carrying multiple first-run series.. time to put the pressure on them....
To at least set the GENERIC info ones... with a REPEAT flag set.

So maybe if you all jump in, and add your comments as well... it will get some attention
Yes, I can confirm the 1st Run vs repeat issue with L&O:CI on USA HD. Mine is setup for 1st Run only, and I have something like 20 episodes scheduled. The data is not getting to the IRD properly through the guide to tell is when/what to record.. the error is either on USA's part, or Tribune's part, or D*'s part.

Same here, HD recording, just recording the 1st runs.

USA's part, or Tribune's part, or D*'s part.
Well consider you covered all three of the major pieces of the process.
I would say the odds of you being correct are just about 99.9999%
