hd ppv trouble

I ordered license to wed on thursday set it to rec. to watch later. I did not get to it till today it played for 5 min. than stops and says searching for authorization or something to that. Any Ideas why Directv has no clue.

What method did you use to order the ppv? There have been reported problems with the HR20 not properly processing remote control ordering for viewing later. It seems as if you order with the remote and start the recording at that point you're fine. Or if you order on the website or the phone system.

The 5 min you got was the free preview.:)

Earlier today I used the remote to order the HD PPV of FF:ROTSS. When it was time I tuned to the channel and there were a few prompts giving me the price and "Oder Now?" and "Are you sure?" If I hadn't been there to select "Yes" all I would've gotten was the 5 minute preview.

I guess you have to use the website to schedule PPVs in advance.

What I did today is hit record it, then went back and hit buy now and it worked fine for me. I thank what happens is if you just record it, it dosn't buy it.

I have this problem also. It seems that record now and watch later does not work with this software release. It has been fixed with the CE release. I am not sure if you will be able to watch PPV movies recorded before you install the CE. I also called DirecTV and they were clueless, luckily someone here let me know. If you look on the CE forum you will see in the release notes for the latest software that it has been fixed. I am going to download tonight and see if it works.

I've been having the same problem too, I thought I was doing it wrong:confused:

This is a real bummer. I had hoped it would have been fixed in this CE.

I have tried to buy HD Fantastic Four Silver Surfer twice now. Each time I had that problem.

The second time, it was still showing when I started watching the recorded version. So I switched to live and purchased the movie. Then, I was able to watch the recorded version.

However, I had to stop it and couldn't get back to the movie for a couple of days. Tried to play it again and again I got the searching for authorization bug. :mad: I'll have to call D* today to get a refund.
