i called 10/8 to upgrade to HD and had an install date of 10/31 which was completed successfully. i was told $100 off equipment and free HD ($10off) for 12 months. I looked at my account activity and I've been charged for HD since 10/8, as well as eaten up one month of free HD access...and i was not able to view HD until the 31st.

i called D* CS and was told how sorry they were but there was nothing they could do at this point. and that i was only charged $7 for the pro-rated month and they gave me a $10 credit, so I made out...MADE OUT:eek2: ? The way I see it I burned through a one month credit and got nothing out of it.

Should I call and try to get someone higher up or see it up as its only $10?:nono2:

It's up to you .. If you are satisfied with the results then why bother making the effort as it will take a little bit of your time to go with the process. If on the other hand, you feel the results are warranted, you should try again. If you do call, ask them if the information you expect is noted on your account anywhere. The best path for success with a CSR is to remain calm and rational and make an attempt to be pleasant .. remember, the goal is success.

cheap fish,

Welcome to the HD revolution! :welcome_s

As Doug said, it's up to you. If you did not have HD prior to your install, and the $7.00 represents the correct pro-rated share of HD for your billing period (your billing date, I'm guessing, was probably not 10/31?), then you have not been charged for HD you were not getting.

As for the $10 credit, if that was just given to you in one lump right away, then the first credit actually offset some of your regular costs instead of directly applying against HD. Over the course of the next twelve months, you're still getting $120 credited against your account.

Unless the $7 is more than your pro-rated HD should have been for your billing cycle, I'd just let it go. I'd be willing to bet that almost any CSR you tried to explain the credit thing to would think, "You're still getting $120 - what difference does it make on the timing?"
