Rose Parade on Discovery HD

Anyone going to be watching the Rose Parade on Discover HD Wednesday morning? I plan on checking it out. Should look great!

It will be the first thing I have watched on Discovery HD in Months. :)

That's surprising Scott. I have really enjoyed some of the shows that have been on recently. Last night I watched the top 10 rollercoasters of 2002 and The Human Body. Both shows were excellent. I also took a look at the Bizmark special with James Cameron.

Discovery HD is slowly getting better.

There have been a number of good shows on Discovery HD in the past couple months. Some are not stellar, but others are very good and the HD quality is excellent..

Whatever footage they are using for the ads for the Rose Parade are impressive, the Parade should look Great in HD...

Ive been busy getting ready for the new baby. :)

I really want to see the Roller Coaster Special.

When I do have a chance to turn it on it is something I have already seen it.

Yes the PQ is awesome, I demo my HD to friends using Discovery all the time. Also planning my SuperBowl party which will also be in HD. :D

Will there be repeats of the parade? I am working that day so I won't be able to see it.

I plan on watching the parade. In addition, I have found many shows on Discovery HD that I love and some are also very beneficial to my children whom home school.

You can also go to the Discovery website ( http://dhd.discovery.com/ )and have them notify you via email the day of any show you wish to watch :)

Its funny no mention of the parade at their website, you think they would be promoting it. And even in their program guide it does not list the parade (I know its going to be on I saw the ads for it)

Also the show I wanted to see does not look like it will be on again (Top 10 Coasters) Hopefully they will replay this in the future.

They've been promoting the parade for a couple weeks (as I watch it now, looks great.) On the channel itself during the breaks between shows. The website for whatever reason did not update the daily guide or any other special announcement, must be some sort of disconnect between the site and what the channel does.

I wonder if this is local LA HD Channel feed. Wonder how they cut out the ads ?

It is The KTLA feed and they do not have adds.

I watched the whole thing and it looked great. I also had my 5.1 surround system on and about the only obvious surround I heard was when the stealth bomber flew over. The rest was more ambient type noise. Kind of disappointing.

As a whole, it was a great experience. HDTV is definitely the way to go for events like this. Can't wait for the super bowl!

I also watched it, and thought it was great! I haven't watched a parade on television in years, but after seeing this in HD, makes me want to watch any parade in HD! Some of those floats were amazing! :D

And I also can't wait for the superbowl, and the last 2 weeks of AFC playoff games.
