Below are my readings on 99(b) & 103(a). The method of testing used is going to signal meter strength screen and testing transponder by transponder, tuner by tuner. Do I need a realignment or do you guys think its something else. I am seeing long times for channels to tune in on some channels which lead to begin this test. I am using is HR20-100 and my dish was installed pre new sats going live. I have native off. Really has not been much of an issue but I want to nip it in the but before it does become bigger issue as more channels get lit up.

99(b)
1- 97% 2 - 40% 3- 90% 4- 45% 5- 78% 6- 45%

103(a)
1 - 97% 2- 84% 3- 0% 4- 95% 5- 95% 6- 87% 17- 0%

Thanks
Slatts

Both the 99b & 103a are stricly spot beams so levels will vary greatly depending on your location.

More importantly, you want to check your levels on 103b. That is the national HD sat.

This may sound like a silly question. But how do I get to 103b. I dont see it as a selection to test.

Sorry my fault, just needed to click one more time. Time change not agreeing with me.

Those numbers aren't terrible, but you might experience above average rain fade on the new HD channels. Ideally, you should be getting 90+ on all of the 103b transponders as well as 90+ on most of the 101. Having your dish re-aligned might be a good idea.

Those are not great numbers. Looks like your dish needs some tweaking.

My numbers were comparable to yours prior to this morning. I had D* come out and do a realign. After the realign my lowest number is a 94. Took the guy all of about 5 minutes to make the adjustment. I'd say have them come out and adjust your dish.

You will note that almost all your odd tp's are higher than your even tp's. This is characteristic of a dish that is out of alignment. They should all be randomly in the mid-80's to 90's, and if that can't be attained after re-alignment, you need a new LNB if you have a Slimline, or a new Slimline if you have an AT-9 (Sidecar).

If you call D*, be sure to mention that you have tp's in the 40's and 50's (that "0" will probably fill in with a number, if you do the test enough times.) Also, you should mention that your picture is intermittent on the new HD channels, because if it's not now, it will be in any minor rain shower.

Problem resolved after a quick dish adjustment by the D* technician. All 90's on all satellites. All is right with the world now.
