I have a problem with my Dish 6000.

I have probably about 13 DTV stations defined in my local channel list and am trying to add a new one - Ch. 51 WBDC which maps to 73-1 and 73-2. Myself and at least one other person have found that when we add the channel (it locks, we set name, save channel list), when we bring the list back up, its gone! Does not appear in channel list at all.

Others in the areas with Dish 6000 have reported no problem. We checked s/w revs and it appears we all have latest. Is there some condition that may cause it not to save? I thought maybe I had too many channels so I dropped one with 7 sub channels but it didnt help.

Some others in the area with other receivers report that it dual maps to 50-1 50-2 as well as 73-1 73-2. Other Dish 6000 owners haven't seen this.

Any other way I can view the channel or add it. Dont want to dump all my channels and rebuild... thats last resort!

Only a guess but channel 73 dosen't exist so the 6000 may not recognize it. Current UHF channels only go upto 69 so the software may not know what to do with the channel beyond limits. You might try calling the broadcaster to question the channel mapping seeing they control it.

This is a known issue, please see http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1622685#post16 for more info.

Excellent - thanks for the info.... however..... there seems to be many Dish 6000 owners that had no problem!

I'm trying to figure out what is different. They may have added the station before they put in the multiple channels, or there may be some other condition. Any more info appreciated. We have already contacted the station but no response yet.

I just called Dish and the first tier engineer was aware of the issue and said that it DOES affect a Sony receiver as well. They are working in it ... not ETA... blah blah.

SO... has anyone had any success in contacting the WB network to get them to discontinue the channel 75 practice? I am contacting my local station but it appears they are all following a national policy?
