I currently have 4 Directv receivers operating off a 2 x 4 multiswitch which takes 2 LNB feeds + a terrestrial OTA feed (which includes a combined modulated channel from one of the receivers) and sends to 4 outputs to the receivers. I can diplex off the antenna channels at the receiver to receive OTA and satellite on one coax.
I would like to switch to Dish due to what seems to be superior HD DVR equipment, but I do not understand how, or if, Dish installers will configure 2 VIP 722s and 2 HD receivers together with OTA/modulated channels from the TV2 output of one or more of the Dish receivers. I have read that the DPP44 switch would likely be used but I do not know if it is used to distribute OTA/modulated TV2 to other locations.
Is there a Dish configuration to achieve what I currently have such that I could use one coax per location to bring in the satellite and OTA/TV2? Assuming the equipment is available for this, is this distribution issue something that the Dish installers will work with me on at the time of my initial installation? If there is a FAQ or something I have missed on this, please point me in the right direction. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated by someone new to Dish.
