They seem to be beeping out the naughty words again. Why don't they let us decide if we want the parental advisory stuff or not. I paying for it so what the heck is this all about?

I'll never fork over the money for it if they are doing that. What a joke.

Are those words really that necessary to enjoy the race?

NASCAR has lots of young fans that watch the races with their parents. It's understandable that they'd do some editing.

for some yes and for others well I guess maybe not. However for the maybe nots that is what the national broadcast is for. Just my opinion as a paying customer and of course you as well as others are entitled to yours.

I have an alert set on Outlook for the Monday after the Homestead race to call and cancel. I tried to cancel for 2008 back in the spring and was told that I couldn't cancel the renewal until after the season. So Monday the 19th, D* is getting a call.

Watching Smoke, they didn't bleep out his first comments to Zippy to send to Harvick. Then the bleeping started shortly after. Not all the language was bleeped out though. Should add that last week there was no bleeping out for Smoke.

I don't like some of the language used by drivers, but I am against bleeping out the team audio. Maybe D* should put a disclaimer in the TOS for Hotpass or any other programming that a customer pays extra to view that is NOT broadcast to the general public. As stated, we pay dearly to have a D* exclusive program.

Sheeze, the Suporano's language was much more colorful and that surely didn't get bleeped, except for the reruns on A&E.

durl: sorry I disagree with you on this one. It is a parents responsibility to monitor what their kids watch or listen to. A parent cannot take their kids to any type of sports event now these days without getting bombarded with foul language and/or gestures. Doesn't make it right, but sadly it is the way it is. I don't want or need D* to make that decision for me during a paid private broadcast.

I have season tickets to the local college's football games. We sit in the middle of season ticket holders. A few times a season, we get the occasional person with single game tickets that wants to use profanity loudly near our kids. They get told to clean it up or find another place to sit. I've not had someone argue the matter with me. Of course, we also have police officers in each section.

I do agree that parents are responsible for what their kids see and hear. If I felt an event was unsuitable for my kids, I wouldn't have them there. I have absolutely no problem with ANY content being on TV. I do not believe in censoring content. I do believe in identifying it, though. If they allow unedited language, mark the rating on the program as such. If they edit it for language, mark it appropriately.

Give parents the tools to make the right choices. If they fail to act on it, the blame is on them.
