I really enjoyed this episode .. It was a lot about Rodney of course, especially at the end when it's clear that there is more than just science in his life.
This episode blew away the last one! I also quite enjoyed it. There were a lot of comedic elements (Shepard's reactions to Ronin on the planet and Loren's reactions to Shephard back on Atlantis) but just a tad too much sap with Rodney and his love interest. :p
C'mon even a 'geeks' need lovin!

The show aired last Friday and the date is in the title .. Any discussion about the show is fair game.

Oh I know Doug...hence the <smirk> at the end.
Was absolutely the best "Rodney" episode to date. Looks like the series may be hitting it's stride this season...

Yes, this was a really good episode. But next week looks like a Teyla episode, which I'm not usually a fan of. I'm glad they brought Rodney's love interest back. It would be tiresome if they made Rodney just start to like Sam again, especially since Sam is on base now.

This show has really been very good this year. And it's not because I'm watching it in HD :hurah:. Well maybe a little.
I'm waiting for the episode wear Ronon and Teal'c square off.
Any idea when these will be On Demand? I missed the eposide before this one due to a mis aligned dish... I was hoping On Demand would help but nothing from SciFi to date.

I haven't heard anything .. I'd like to think as we move forward that On Demand will be able to fill in for things like this. Since On Demand is so new, though, it may be a while before we see this.

Will it be available via on-demand ever? Isn't NBC-Universal launching their own delivery system and they may not want it on On-Demand?

I actually forgot about Rodney's crush on Sam, so it definitely is good he has a distraction.
I'm waiting for the episode wear Ronon and Teal'c square off.Throw in Ka D'argo, and I'd buy a ticket to that match. (Yeah, we're crossing universes, but ... sue me - I think this would be a great fight! :))

One other thing, I think the show is so much better this season since Weir is gone. I'm very happy she is gone and even happier that Sam is on the show. She makes more sense to me to be the leader of Atlantis. I've been quite happy with how they've portrayed her on the show. Hopefully Daniel will come to visit for an episode. I think they have the right cast to make a long run now. First, got rid of Rainbow and added Ronin, now got right of Weir. I never liked her, and I didn't like that they did an actress change between her first introduction on SG1 and when they spun off Atlantis.
Now, where is that Asgard Tech? And when is the SG1-->Atlantis bridge coming, where we find out what happened to Sam (and the rest of SG1) between the last episode and Sam's appointment to Atlantis??

Anyone here who knows my posting history at TiVo Community Forums knows I hated that Jessica Steen did not continue to portray Weir when SGA premiered, so I agree with you there. However, I have grown to really like Torri Higginson as Weir, so I do miss her. I think her Weir character had great chemistry with Rodney and with Sheppard. Weir was also very much like General Landry on SG1 - mostly in the background but came to the forefront to move things along. I don't think the introduction of Sam as the expedition leader has added much to SGA: she's just one more very smart scientist on a base full of smart scientists, and in fact, is much too "well known" for the small role she has assumed. I'm certain that when Amanda Tapping's contract is up (I think it's one year left), she'll run for the doors and we'll have some new character take over as expedition leader or a way will be found to "rescue" Weir from the replicators...
Now, where is that Asgard Tech? They pick up right where the series ended, so SGA is not going to give too much away before the movies are out.

That's my point, when do the movies come out?

Are these Made-for-TV movies or are they headed to the theater?

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_SG-1):
On December 20 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_20), 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006), verified reports from GateWorld confirmed the production of two movies, with filming expected to begin in late April of 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007). The regular cast of Stargate will be part of the cast. Executive producer Robert C. Cooper will both write and direct the first film, to be named Stargate: The Ark of Truth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate:_The_Ark_of_Truth). The first movie "has to do with wrapping up the Ori storyline, which is the storyline that has taken prominence for the last two years of the show," said cast member Michael Shanks. The second movie, called Stargate: Continuum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate:_Continuum), starts shooting June 1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_1), 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007). Executive producer Brad Wright will write the second film, with Martin Wood directing. That story is a time travel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_travel) story taking SG-1 to the past. "It has something to do with our main villain Ba'al (Cliff Simon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliff_Simon)) doing something in the past," Shanks said. "He basically finds a way to lift the Stargate from Earth so the Stargate Program never happens, and I imagine the characters will have to go through some process to reset the clock and fix everything".
On December 22 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_22), 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006), GateWorld reported that with MGM beginning production of the first direct-to-DVD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-to-video) movie, MGM and the show's Vancouver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver)-based producers are no longer pursuing an eleventh season. Both of the expected direct-to-DVD films are most likely going to be released early 2008, and the possibility of future films remains high.[12] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_SG-1#_note-Ark)
There's more info about the first mmovie at GateWorld (http://www.gateworld.net/movies/02.shtml).

This may have already been addressed but I haven't read the whole thread and just wanted to make sure some of these questions get answered.
Where is the Asgard Tech: The Asgard are all dead which happened in the last episode of SG1
What happened to SG1: There are two direct to DVD movies that are slated for next year one of them will complete the Ori story and the other one will deal more w/ the Gould. (sorry about any spelling issues on this one)
The bridge: It is up and working we see Sam at the middle point in the first episode of this season on Atlantis

yes, the Asgard are dead, but they gave all their tech to SG1, so where is the Asgard tech?? I'm hoping they solve this issue in the DVD movies. I just checked gateworld.net and they say MGM/Fox has a projected release date of March 11, 2008 for the first of the two SG1 movies. No official release date yet, but that's their estimate.
My memory fails now days, but I seem to recall that final episode of them getting all that tech, but couldn't use it becuase it's use would bring the new bad guys down on them for using it. Then it seems like they had to destroy the computer that held the knowledge. Somethign like that.

They just couldn't use the stardrive as the bad guys could follow them still. BUT, in the Atlantis time line, the Orai have been defeated (or so we think, we've yet to see the SG1 movies), so why wouldn't the asgard tech have been started back up and put into use all over the place? You'd think that'd help in the fight against the wraith, and more importantly, the Replicators, once they tire of fighting the wraith and want to attack Atlantis.
