Sounds like Echostar is exercising some sound business principles. They are sitting on a bunch of cash after the failed merger and have decided to retire some high cost debt.

Excellent move, except for any blue hairs out there who recently bought the bonds with the intention of holding until 2006 and living off the interest. :D
