Time for D* to address audio synch issues.... especially on Showtime -- it is completely hit-and-miss.... one show is OK, next is so out-of-synch it can give you a headache. Come on D* what are we paying your monthly fees for?

I have noticed this occasionally and sporadically since the HD launch. Latest notice was on ESPN2 Sunday evening during one of their 'Blitz' segments.

Ya think?
Maybe stop working on video on demand long enough to fix a basic problem that has been going on for a year now. A year! Check the posts yourself.
When you have this happen, try pausing momentarily and then hit play. I know you shouldn't have to do this but it sometimes corrects the problem.

This 'fix' has never worked for me.

The problem is that this problem is not systemic. It is not effecting all of the HR20s. So what would you have them fix?

If it is a problem on DirecTV's end, it would be nice if it was corrected. That and the audio dropouts, which I find even more annoying.

The reason is that this isn't just D* problem. It is endemic in HDTV. There is absolutely nothing anywhere in the standard that syncs audio and video together.

+1...there are new HD channels that I just can't watch because of this issue (like the new Discovery HD). Resets, changing channels, or pausing and unpausing do not work for me.

I agree that it is time to address this issue... It seems like I have some sort of lip sync issue on almost every HD channel...

Earl or other mods... Is this a known/acknowledged problem? Is there anything that we the masses can do to help gather data to assist in trouble-shooting?
Is there any suspicion that it's related to HR20 hw/sw? Or is it all the result of content providers and/or transmission facilities?
