Hi everyone. I have 2 homes, one of which I stay at for the majority of the year. At the other home, I used to have my equipment there, so the house has a dish and is wired. If I were to add receivers to my account and put them at the house where I currently don't have service, would I have to pay directv double the money for a new account, or can I just hook up those receivers that I activate on my account and be good to go?
All receivers on an account must be at the same address (except for some weird rules for RV's, I think). But if you go back and forth, you could change your address on your account and there's no fee or anything. Just take your receivers with you and plug them in.

I know that is their rule, I am asking if they would know if I was using equipment at 2 different addresses at the same time under one account because when I am at the other home, my father is usually at the primary house

Without directly answering your question I will say this....
The satellite signal only goes one way.
That is about all I can tell you.

Wouldn't the possibly notice from the origination of phone calls or the IP address you're making contact with?

If you hook it up to the phone line... and if you hook it up to the internet...
but even if you do it doesnt mean anything.
1) Many people have more than 1 phone line
2) It is not that hard to have your number block
3) most ISP's use a dynamic IP system so not having the same ip all the time is actualy normal

Please don't ask for advise on how to violate the terms of your agreement with DirecTV.
