Replacing receiver with 50x

If you buy a 501 or 508 to replace a standard receiver on an existing Dish setup, is there anything you have to do other than swap out the hardware? Do you still only need one line in from the dish? Also can someone post the link to the site that compares 501/Ultimate TV/ and TIVO?

501/508 is just regular reciever with PVR, no dual tuner, so besides swapping out the physical HW, you call up and give them the ID of the tuner you've removed from your account and the new one you've just added.

The only thing to watch out for when installing a 50x receiver is that, once the check switch is performed, it takes about 20 minutes for the receiver to download the updated firmware and then program the receiver. During this time, the receiver will literally shut down and a green light will blink during the download. Do not unplug during this portion.
