When setting up my 721 I got everything connected, followed the procedures for check switch etc. Then while waiting for the initial software download, called & activated the unit.
When the software download completed the unit did it's unpacking, got everything set up and then reset (all normal to this point).
When it came back up it indicated the receiver was not authorized yet.. no problem, the info has just not come over the satellite yet. While waiting for it to authorize I was browsing around the channels it was allowing me to see, I tuned down past aux & it went to one of the btv channels, which immediately popped up that I was not authorized & that I should ch up or ch dn to go on. When I tried this, no key press would get me out. After a moment the screen went black & I was still unable to get off the channel. It finally allowed me to power off. But when it came back up it still indicated that I was not authorized & I was still on one of the btv channels. The whole cycle started again. This time though, I was able to pull up the guide, but selecting another channel did not do anything... I was still stuck on the same channel.
Finally I held the power button for a reset, when it came back up I was on the aux input. Selecting guide showed that I was now fully authorized.
This might be similar to the NHL bug mentioned in another thread.
