View Full Version : Today's NHL HD Issues - Sunday, 11/11
If SatelliteRacer's previous thread about upconverts is true, 764-1 will be showing the upconverted FSN feed of the Red WIngs - Blackhawks game tonight, as there is no HD logo in the on screen menu.
However, CSN Chicago is televising, for the first time in years, a home game for the Blackhawks. It will be produced in HD on Channel 640.

CSN Chicago is my RSN, so I expect to see it, but I'll be curious if 640 is blacked out elsewhere.
It shouldn't be.
Also, the menu guide lists both feeds of this game, along with one feed of the Wild - Avs game while the web site schedule has 1 feed of the WIngs game and both feeds of the Wild game.
Completeing the hat trick of mis-information, the Channel 600 slide shows only feed of each game.
More fun in store tonight!

The pre-game is coming in nice and clear in HD.... we'll see what happens in a few minutes.
Amazing, the CSN HD broadcast IS being carried on 765-1, although the on screen program guide still shows Wednesday's Hawks - Jackets telecast.
Pretty cool to see this game on 4 D* channels!

Okay here is the deal where I live. I have two rsn's fsn detroit and comcast chicago. 636hd is in fact an upconvert which is nice however its in 4:3(is it possible to upconvert in 16:9?) 640hd is hd which is great even though I'm a Wings fan I will watch 640 hands down. Nice that its not blacked out in my area, must be because I qualify for both rsn's. What is the deal with a home game broadcast by Chicago and in HD too! Hell hasn't froze over yet but it must be getting colder:) BTW I am not a subscriber to Center Ice

For those Blackhawk fans I found this home Comcast SportsNet TV schedule.
“Our goal in putting home games back on television is to bring the excitement and energy of our great team back to Blackhawk fans,” said Blackhawks Chairman W. Rockwell “Rocky” Wirtz. “We know that the more our fans are able to see the action of games, the more they will want to come out to the United Center and experience it firsthand.”
The full schedule is as follows:
Sunday, November 11 6:00 p.m. vs. Detroit Red Wings
Friday, November 30 7:30 p.m. vs. Phoenix Coyotes
Sunday, December 9 6:00 p.m. vs. Calgary Flames
Wednesday, December 26 7:30 p.m. vs. Nashville Predators
Sunday, January 6 6:00 p.m. vs. Detroit Red Wings
Friday, March 7 7:30 p.m. vs. San Jose Sharks
Sunday, March 23 2:00 p.m. vs. St. Louis Blues

This is a good day for D*'s center ice coverage. Even though there was the only one game, to not see "this game is blacked out in your area" was nice to see. Lets hope this starts some momentum.

Yes, we get both. Blackhawks and Bulls claim our area however you need Sports Pack to get the games. I too am watching on 640 as I'll take HD any day even if it means not getting Ken and Mickey announcing.

After two months of CI frustration and more than 25 years of Bill Wirtz frustration, it was great to see the Hawks on home ice in the red sweater on HD with homer play by play. God I miss Pat Foley though!

CRAP!!! I missed 765-1!!!! I checked 764-1 and it was SD (480i); I went to FSN Detroit and it was upconvert 720p -- NEVER checked 765-1 (the guide said upcoming Nlackhawks/Avalanche I think??) or the 600 channel. Will remember to check everywhere next time!!!
This isn't easy, but its good to know the games are coming in HD -- just have to take the time to find 'em!!!
BTW -- Hall of Fame ceremonies tonight on NHLHD!!!!

This was great. But where was Altitude HD last night? They could have put that game on 94/95, the NFL games were long over.
But things are getting better though.
BTW, I'm not trying to be rude, but we need to get these now 3 NHLCI threads combined. :)
I found the game in HD on channel 640 which is not my RSN.
D* seems to be listening to us and left the RSN in the clear.
