Where on the net can I find a multiswitch for Dish 500? I want to add a second rcvr in my bedroom.

I'm not sure of how many feet it is from the antenna, but I may need some sort of in-line power booster.

Once I get the switch, what's the best way to hook it up?

What kind of LNB's do you have ?
What kind of switch are you using now ?
Dishpro or Legacy LNB's / receivers ?
Do you have a 61.5 dish as well ?

Go into your "Point Dish" menu and go see what the receiver says you have right now, then report back and we'll be able to give you an answer that can help.

Every DISH500 comes ready for 2 rcvrs from the get-go. If you have an early version (like me) it came with 2 dual LNBs and 2 SW21 switches. But if you only had 1 rcvr installed the installer might have pocketed the 2nd switch. You can get a new one for $29 or less.

If you have either version of the TWIN LNBF all you need is to run another drop from the D500 to the location of the new rcvr.

When I got my 2800 a few years ago, it came with 2 Single (legacy) LNBs. No way to feed two receivers from this without replacing the LNBs with a Twin or two Duals (which I eventually did).

Sorry...You got the $99 2812 system. This was only available for a limited time as a means of clearing out Model 2800s & was obviously meant for potential new subs on a limited budget and/or only having one TV to hook up.

So the 2812 system is the exception that prooves the rule. Very few of them were ever sold, most of them "off the shelf" at Sears.
