#1: When I had my DP, I could search on the channel name (e.g. SPEED for the Speed Channel), and get the sequential listing of all programs for that channel out to the end of the EPG. This was a sweet feature. Is there a way to do that with the 721?

#2: I just got home after 10 days of vacation, and saw a lot of programs recorded that I didn't request. Clearly it was because some program times had changed and the 721 was recording the program in the pre-configured time slot, though it wasn't there any more. OK, I understand, program times change...

So, I had to find the bad timer event and fix it or delete it. However, I couldn't find the date/time on the recorded program, even on the short info blurb at the top of the screen as I highlighted each item! Finally I found that the INFO button would show the date/time stamp...OK, now I know what timer to look for...

Then I went to the timers at the bottom of the guide to match with these. Bong! They show what the NEW date/time slots to be recorded, but not the names of the program, so you don't know what you INTENDED to record. If you then hit INFO to see the program name (or press ENTER), you are brought to another screen entitled "Sort by Action Order", but not to the timer you wanted! You have to find it again. Even with this new screen, the list shows timer date/time stamp and not the name of the program, and only shows the name of the program in the upper summary blurb at the top of the screen as you select each entry. I guess since the 721 strictly is recording a time slot not a program, they prefer to put the priority on displaying the date/time stamp instead of the program name. However, I found the DP screen much more intuitive to use. Am I missing something? Are there some tips and tricks to the 721 guide use and PVR timer display?

In regard to question one, the answer is no. You can't search on a single channel only.

I'm not sure of what you're describing in the the second part, but if what you're looking for is the program name of your timers, that can be done in either of two ways.

You can hit the PVR (gray) button on your remote which will bring up a screen showing both recorded programs and, below those, the timers you've set to record. Select one of those timers and hit info. It should tell you the name of the program and a description of that program.

The other way is to hit the menu button on the remote, then select the timers option. This will bring up a list of timers you have set to record. Scrolling over these individual timers you will see the name of the event to be recorded at the top of the screen.
