I turned on the Steelers/Browns game on CBS-HD and the picture was CRAP! No way could this be HD! The pic was 4x3, not only that I was able to get a better picture on the local analog station! Anybody else experience the same thing? I was under the impression that the playoffs were supposed to be in 1080i and 16x9. Was I lied to?

The OTA broadcast here in Denver was not HD. So I suspect it was not 1080I.

Only the conference championships in a couple of weeks will be in HD, as well as the Super Bowl.

Lousy picture! I mean BAD! Probably the worst I've seen on the CBS-HD channel. The sports center video was great, but the game itself was terrible.

High Definition starts next weekend - 3 AFC playoff games and then the superbowl.

I guess the wildcard teams didn't warrant the HD coverage. Too bad because both of todays games were great!!
TitanTV DID have yesterday's CBS game listed as HD...wrong again

TitanTV has been wrong a lot over the last couple of months. I find myself not paying much attention to them anymore.

Frank,
After you checked for HD and were disappointed that it was not present, did you switch back to an S Video input? When not watching HD, I always do this for the picture is far superior like that on the 6000.
I watched the game on the NY CBS station also and in smooth stretch the picture was far superior to any of my Pittsburgh locals. I am surprised that you got such a bad picture.

The HD programming forum at AVSForums... as far as a real online source, not really that I've found.

Huh? Why would the picture be better with the S-Video input? I must be missing something here.

I find that when watching normal (NTSC) channels, my picture is better watching them through svideo rather than upconverted to 1080i by my 6000. Digital channels (ATSC) on the other hand always look better to me via component or RGB regardless of whether they are showing a HD program or an upconverted SD program.
