I have a HR7-100. I've just recently noticed that some channels appear in the "all channels guide" but done appear in the filtered guide. For example, channel 520, a movie channel, appears in the all channels guide, but not in the "movies filter guide;" the same applies to channel 99, a kids channel, that appears in the "all channels guide" but not in the "kids and family filtered guide."

Does anyone have an explanation or a fix for this? It can be a problem if one only uses the filtered guides to find shows. In each case above you'd not see those channels.

Please advise

Thanks

I just tried this. Starz on 520 does not show up in the movies guide. However, 99, is not a kids channel, it is a PPV channel that may have shown a kids program.

The filtered guide does not find movies or kids shows. It finds channels that are defined as movie channels or kids channels. Using it will make you miss movies on non-movie channels (like major networks) or make you miss sports on non-sports channels.

You may want to use the category sort instead (hit menu while in the guide).

My mistake re channel 99; I meant channel 299 (which is Nickelodeon) and which is clearly a kids channel and should be defined as such; Also, isn't Starz a "movie channel"?

Yes, Starz is. It is a mistake. DirecTV designates what type the channels are.
