I will be switching from a DishNetwork 500 (The Dual LNB, Not the Twin) and am wondering if I can just remove the Dish and mount the DirecTV antena onto the same pole. Are the Diameters of the two poles the same?

If not I might just set the skey to 0' and re aim my dish 500, but the installer that is coming out said that might not work. I think it will because I have the Original Dish500 and not the Twin.

Yup all 1 5/8ths OD. Except Sony D*

Yes the E* dish will work if you fiddle with the skew.

Yes, it will work if you want to just reaim your DISH:) Just remove 1 LNBF (not needed, but you may as well get something out of it - sell it or something), and set the skew to 0 (not needed but will help with aiming). It will work fine. Only the twin, quad, and DishPro LNBFs won't work.

It looks like I am getting some kind of "Generic" 18' Dual LNB Dish which I am guesing should be the 1 5/8 OD...

Yes, it will fit perfectly and...

You can attach the DirecTV lnb and mounting arm to the Dish500 dish (fits perfectly). Will increase your signal strength.
