Rupert Murdoch May Sell L.A. Dodgers

Rupert Murdoch might put the Los Angeles Dodgers (news) up for sale within the next six months, an Australian newspaper reported on its Web site Sunday.

Murdoch's News Corp. would sell the Dodgers to raise cash before bidding on the satellite television service DirecTV, The Age reported, citing unnamed Wall Street analysts.

A Dodgers spokesman acknowledged Sunday that the team could be sold if the right offer surfaced.

I don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing. I liked the amount of money they spent, but I hate them for trading Piazza....

For me its a bad thing. I like the fact the Dodgers are unable to mount a reall challenge to the Giants. I figure with a new owner who might want to win a World Series, the Giants would have to spend more money.
