Transfering Recordings To Laptop

I have Dish installing duel tuner hd receiver this weekend.
Once you record on to external hard drive what software do you have to have on the laptop to watch your recordings on the laptop?

You don't need any software for that, only your PC and using Search button and time for read thread/posts here.

If what you are trying to do is copy the content from your 622/722 to a PC and then view it from your laptop, There is no legal way to do this and if there is an illegal way we don't allow that type of discussion here.

The two options you have is to use a Slingbox like device or have a TV tuner/capture card installed in your PC and view through the tuner card.

Since this topic usually wonders down a slippery slop I am going to close this thread.
