He was the very first Titanium subscriber!
He still owns the company...so he really has it.

I think a better question is does he have DirecTV in all his homes?

He has what he owns in each home in each country. He is not so stupid that he would actually PAY for something he has for free.
What kind of stupid poll is this anyway?

He probably has more than one MSO. I would bet he has local cable and D* (Sky, etc.) at each of his locations.

When your life is a reality program, do you need tv?

Not to mention a big ugly or two (to get channels from out of country that aren't on the DBS or cable platforms). The guy is multinational.
Remember that it is an oft-repeated urban legend that DirecTV has, for several years, had "hidden" channels which are unavailable to subscribers in any package, including several from the SKY system, including Sky News, which is also part of the NEWS Corp. The idea being that these are carried for NEWS execs.

I should start a poll to see if we should ban the usage of D*
Is it that hard to type DirecTV?

As to the question.... how about a simple Yes or No?

See Cable Lover, you are indeed an instigator and I still have my eye on you.:( ;)

I would love to ban the usage of D-Star (D*) because it is DIRECTV :p

Didn't someone take a picture of a FIOS box outside James Dolan's house? So if the owner of Cablevision can have FIOS, why can't RM have E*?
As for the E*, D* etc., sorry guys its too ingrained. Unless of course the Forum software can turn D* into DirecTV automatically like it can put *********'s in to blocked sites.

How about DTV?
No longer applicable... since those letters have multiple meanings.

Funny you should raise that question, Earl, because I find myself actually typing DirecTV much more often now than D*. D* still slips in once in a while, though.
And I certainly wouldn't have ANY objection to the banning of D** ! That gets to me like someone saying "irregardless". ARGH! :)
With the simple software running these forums, it would take about 13 seconds to apply a filter that changed D* to DirecTV.
However, since its been a while since I've used phpBB, I dont remember if it'll count the * as a wild card, or as an asterisk
But I think theres a way around that by using quotes.

I don't mind typing DirecTV. It seemed to me that D* was this forum's preferred abbreviation. For me it's a whatever sort of thing. It doesn't bother me to see D*.
As for the poll, the option I'd choose isn't there, "If he has the best, most reliable TV service, and the most HD channels, then yes, yes he does."

I think it is actually a little harder than a quick settings change. The site actually uses vBulletin and as far as I know there isn't an option to replace once word with another.

In print, I believe DIRECTV or DIRECTV is the correct way to refer to DIRECTV. If you search through DIRECTV produced material, I think you will not find it shown as DirecTV.

The all caps version is the registered trademark of DirecTV, but before you adopt that as the preferred usage, I would suggest you read the Terms & Conditions section of directv.com (http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=P500012). Please not in particular the paragraph beginning "The trademarks, logos, and service marks..."
The transfer of DirecTV from Rupert Murdoch of News Corp to John Malone of Liberty media is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and by spring at the latest. Most of the hurdles have been satisfied by regulators for the transaction to complete.
I would bet a lot of cable execs have either DIRECTV or DISH Network because they can't take the measly HD offerings their company offers them for free on their HDTVs.

Actually he has dual citizenship, America and Australia.

very much so......
I wouldn't be surprised if he has DIRECTV, EchoStar, Cable and FIOS plus whatever he can get via satellite for his U.S. residences. For him its a business expense so he can compare the competition.
