I would like to know...of those of you that have tried both...
Is superbuddy worth the extra $200 or not?...
Thanks
Jason
I would really like to hear from the pro's here (there are many)!
I have had the Birdog Meter 2.5 versions for quite awhile. Recently upgraded to version 3.0. Ive never had any problems with Birdog. Fast accurate readings on every install. I have heard the Supper Buddy costs more, but the birdog has been so realiable to me that i wouldnt want to try the Supper buddy.
Hands down, i recommend BIRDOG. The standard in getting the right signal the first time.

$200
I like the idea of reading the transponders....do you think it is worth it....will I save time?

I have both and I use my bird dog almost all the time because it does not wieght so much. The supperbuddy is so heavy it is hard to handle. Both are great units. I would never consider any other meter for my work. Seen to many installers take hours to get the dish lined up,but with the birddog it is so easy and very quick. The newer one is even better. Hope this helps you. I have been using the bird dog for over 6 years and it has never let me down.

I agree about the Superbuddy. I used one once that a buddy of mine has. It was big and bulky and I was using it on a pole mount install. I can only imagine how much of a pain it would be to use it while trying to balance on a ladder.
The birdog is a nice meter. It is a little bulky, but not too bad. The problem I've seen with more than one of the birdogs is that the barrel connector seems to wear out causing a bad connection when you screw the cable on it. I had to replace the connector on mine, and have talk to several others I know that have done the same.
I now use a Digisat III Pro for all of my installs. I like it much better than the birdog. It's about 1/3 of the size of the birdog and is just as easy to aim the dish with it as compared to the birdog.
