Ok, so I re-aligned my dish (after nudging it with my tractor) and all my channels are back except for a few HD ones. NFL network and my local Networks (NBC, CBS, ABC). What to do? I can receive the SD feeds of the Networks, just not the HD feed. Any suggestions? Should I continue trying to fine tune the dish pointing? Thanks

Look at your signal strengths to get an idea on what the situation is.

Make sure the mast is still perfectly plumb. If not, then the tilt will be wrong, which is very critical for aligning to the satellites.

And, as Earl said, look at the signal strengths for all transponders on all satellites.

Thanks Earl. I checked, and I'm getting good signal strengths on transponders except 4, 12, 20, etc. (It seems like every 8th transponder is 0).

Thanks again, and Happy T-Day!

Ok, the pole in the ground (to which the dish is attached) is prettty tight. I can "wiggle" it a little bit, but not much. Do you think that might be the problem? I mean, the "play" in the post is not much at all. Just how sensitive are these things anyway? BTW, I'm NEVER going to drive near the dish again on my tractor. Thanks!

Have you tried resetting your receiver?

Yes, I've done the RBR several times. :)

The pole being plumb is very critical. Just get a level and check it in all 4 directions to make sure it's plumb. Once you have it plumb then double check your tilt first then work your way to the others. Tilt is probably the most critical. My signals were in the 50s and 60s and I noticed that the installer put the tilt at 77 instead of 73 for our area. Once I fixed that i get near 90 on evens, mid 80s on odds (103b).

Thanks, I'm heading out with a level now! I really appreciate the help. Hopefully this solves the issue.

Ok, thanks to all for your assistance. I went out and found all to be plumb. I "inched" the dish just about 1/2 inch to one side and presto!! all HD channels now working. Whewwwwwwwwww, lesson learned: NEVER drive a tractor near a dish! Who knew these things were as sensitive as they are. Again, thanks to all and enjoy your turkery, or whatever it is you dine on during this holiday.
