Had my installation completed today. The tree trimmers were here at 10am - had 3 trees that were dying and while they were here I had them top a big oak tree that would have given me problems with 110. As soon as they left the Directv installer showed up. I had the 8-12 slot and he was here about 11:55. I already had new RG6 run to all the tvs in the house. While he mounted the dish on the roof I went into the attic and installed the ground block. I had a ground rod already pounded into place and had the ground wire run up to the roof (nicely hidden in the corners of the siding). Only a few problems popped up - his meter wasn't workig well and one of the HD boxes wouldn't work. My numbers are:
101 - 95%
110 - 95%
119 - 96%
The picture quality is awesome. The only problem I am having is trying to decide what packages to go with!
Can't wait to drop off my overpriced HD convertor to the local cable company. They charge 9 bucks/month for each HD convertor box.
Thanks to everyone for their help as ventured into the decision to go with Directv.
