Hr21 and internet

I am new as if you did not know. I have been able to connect my hr21 to my network and share photos and music. I am using a linksys wga54g. My question is I am unable to connect to the internet, have I missed something I need to do with dtv or is it not available on the hr21

Are you referring to running the network test for connecting to the Internet? Sometimes that shows a failure when it in fact works. What software version is your HR21 running?

At the moment, there's nothing that an Internet connection does for you, though in the future it will enable the DirecTV on Demand service and allow you to dispense with a phone line.

There's nothing special that you need to do. Generally, if you can get media share working, there's no issue with connecting to the internet.

Thanks for the reply the software is 0x168b, it shows a connection to the network but failure to internet. I guess I will wait for dtv to all the on demand service.
