I think I screwed something up with my R15 box. I attempted to change the remote, an RC64, to RF mode. I got stuck in the setup menu as my remote now refuses to work. I had to shut off the box to get out of the menus. I realize now that I have the wrong remote and no antenna to accomplish RF mode for the R15. That'll teach me not to read the forums first!

Anyway, no remotes work now, not even my Harmony. Button presses show that they are received by the box but nothing happens. The buttons do work on the R15 itself so it seems to be working properly in that respect. I have reset the box a few times to no avail. Is there any way to back out my attempt at RF mode or did I hose it somehow? Thanks!

You can try throwing a short length of coax on to act as an RF antenna. Good luck.

What has happened is you have told the remote to control RF, even though it is not an RF remote. Remove the batteries and put them back in. Use the buttons on the front of the box to change back to IR mode........That should do the trick.

What SDizzle said, except the battery part is not relevant.

Use the front panel controls on your R15. Menu, Setup, Remote and go to the field where you specify RF or IR. Change it back to IR and you should be good to go.

using the front keys on the box, with the receiver tuned in on the tv, enter the menu:

1. menu> settings> setup> remote> IR/RF
2. you will see either IR or RF
3. select IR
4. press Done, exit the menu

see if the harmony remote works.

The rc64 isn't a RF remote, the rc64r or rc64rb are, a RF remote has a FCC sticker on the back.

Thanks for the clarification Carl, I had this happen before and pulled the bats, but didn't realize it would have worked without doing that.......:)

Thanks to everyone for the info. Worked like a charm. I don't know why I didn't think of using the front panel. I guess being a new subscriber had something to do with it. It's nice to have a friendly place to go to get answers!
